Game Rules – Fantasy Football
Each “Player Draft” contest requires that you select 11 players. The total virtual player salary must not exceed 45 million, depending on the fixtures in the contest the salary cap might be adjusted accordingly. Some contests might require smaller teams, so called “Quick-Picks”, in which case the salary cap is adjusted accordingly.
The formations are predetermined by SPORT.Guru and include 4-4-2, 4-3-3, 3-4-3 and others. For “Quick-Picks” the team consists of four players total, one for each position.
The available player pool includes players that our data provider provides statistics for in that league and determines to be eligible to play for the matches included in the contest. Missing players will be added after the data provider recognizes the new player.
Each player’s salary is fixed after the start of a contest. In between contests, however, salaries fluctuate depending on how players performed during matches. Please note that player salaries listed are a function of the fantasy sports contest and are not intended as any indication of real-life salary of the individual players.
Your opponents’ teams will be visible after kickoff of the first game in the contest.
Each contest specifies a start date after which entries may no longer be added, edited, or cancelled.
The results and winners of a contest will be based on the total points earned from each entrant’s team during the duration of the contest.
If a match of a given contest is rescheduled outside of the originally scheduled beginning and end of the contest, players in those matches will earn zero points.
Teams consist of 11 players (or less in certain contests) and must include players from at least 2 different professional teams. Further restrictions may be set in the contest rules. The positions to choose players are:
and Forward (F).
SPORT.Guru determines the position eligibility and each player is only eligible at ONE position listed above.
Each player earns points based on his real-life performance during a match. Players will receive positive or even negative points.

Player Draft Deadlines
Contest entry and team changes will lock at the posted start time of the contest. You may change your team as often as you wish before the contest start time. Once the contest matches begin, all players and teams will lock and can no longer be edited.
The data provider will provide match scoring based on their proprietary tracking system. Judgments of all statistics, such as if a pass is completed or a shot is on or off target, is solely the determination of the data provider. The same rules apply to all players, so there is no inherent advantage or disadvantage. If a scoring error by the data provider is made after all matches in the contest are declared final and prizes are awarded, corrections will not be reflected nor will prizes be adjusted.
After the contest has finished, SPORT.Guru receives the final stats from the data provider. These stats will be used to calculate the results of each contest. On occasion, the data provider may issue a stat-correction after matches have ended and the official scoring validation process has completed. These corrections are rare, but can occur days after a match is played. Therefore, any changes to official scoring that occur after contests have been finalized will not impact those finalized contests. Conversely, if a correction needs to be made after contests are finalized due to a bug with the data feed or the finalization process, while extremely rare, the finalization process (including payment) may be reversed and redone correctly.
SPORT.Guru will wait until all of the final statistics have been reported for each contest’s games to ensure that the final results are accurate. Occasionally the data provider will change stats from the live scoring. In those cases, payouts will be based on the final statistics, not what is published during live games. If revisions are made after the final statistics are published, payouts will not be reversed or changed. If there is difficulty obtaining official results or issues with scoring, the contest may be settled the following day or whenever the final statistics are initially published.
Some contests on SPORT.Guru require a specified number of players. If the required number of players is not reached before the contest starts, the contest will be canceled and your entrance fee will be refunded. For example, a head-to-head challenge cannot take place without two players and a 10-player league may not be conducted with less than 10 players.
Certain contests are structured without a minimum required number of players. In this case, the prize pool grows as more players join the contest, and the final payout is dependent on how many players competed in the contest.
Game Cancellations and Postponements
If a scheduled game is cancelled, preempted, or postponed for any reason, no points will be earned by players in the cancelled, preempted, or postponed game or event.
Abandoned or Shortened Games
Any statistics generated on a later date than when the game is completed might not be included in the contests if not provided by the data provider before the end of the contest. If a game is shortened and statistics are provided by the data provider, those statistics WILL count for the contest.
Cancelling your Entry
Once you have submitted your fantasy team lineup or game picks, your contest entry is considered active. Withdrawing your entry would disrupt the nature of the contest structure as most leagues have a fixed number of entry slots. Therefore, cancellations are not allowed.
SPORT.Guru reserves the right to cancel contests at our discretion, without any restrictions. This would typically be done only in cases where we believe there would be a widespread impact on the integrity of contests due to problems on the site or events impacting the sporting events.
